Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you should be aware that Far Cry 4 is due to be released later this year and that, like Far Cry 3, Ubisoft have created another compelling villain. The box art of Far Cry 4 was released a few months ago and depicts the villain who seems a little more refined than Far Cry 3’s Vaas. Far Cry 4’s villain, Pagan Min wears a Magenta suit and has a bleached blonde faux hawk that covers half his face. Not feeling very intimidated? Well Ubisoft certainly think you should be.
“Pagan Min wears that suit as an homage to his mom,” said the executive producer Dan Hay. “So when you’re making fun of the suit, you’re making fun of his mom. And I would not make fun of Pagan Min’s mom.”
Supposedly Pagan Min will be a character who isn’t quite what he seems. “We wanted to give him an element of charm. We wanted to give him an element of sophistication,” he said. Min took over Kyrat 20 years ago and his face is on the region’s money. “He can do whatever he wants. Nobody ever says no to him.”
The character that the players will take the role of is called Ajay Ghale and is returning to Kyrat for the first time since he was a child. “The player and the character are discovering that together,” he explained saying that Ghale’s surname is famous in the region. “Everywhere you go people are like ‘okay, I know who you are,’ and you don’t even know who you are. The game is a reflection of that.”
Far Cry 4 is due to be released on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC on November 18th in North America and Europe, and November 20th in Australia.
