Microtransactions are a hot topic in gaming right now with most gamers feeling they are desperate attempts from developers to squeeze more cash from us despite the fact we’ve already paid a hefty sum for the game itself. Whenever a new game is on the horizon the question many people wonder is whether or not the game will feature microtransactions.
The beta for Destiny certainly showed that microtransactions would work in the game as there’s plenty of customization and weapons to be had in the game. Fortunately it seems that microtransactions will not be seen in Destiny, at least for now.
When asked about microtransactions in an interview with GamingBolt, Senior Environment Artist Jason Sussman said: “So currently there are no micro-transactions, everything is in-game. As you play the game, you’re finding different equipment thats coming out of different enemies or treasure chests or even within the tower you will receive different rewards that you’re rewarded within the game. It’s all built within the game.”
Destiny is due to be released on September 9th for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, and Xbox 360. Lets hope it remains free of microtransactions.
