Last week, we reported the news that leaked pictures seemed to confirm that a 3rd Just Cause game was well into development. Now it has been revealed that the game is officially on its way.
The news comes from Avalanche Studios, who created that last game. A post on their website confirms that Just Cause 3 is currently in development and is planned to be released on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC sometime in 2015. Those of you who wish to learn more about the game should check out Game Informer who have a twelve page feature on the new game.
The post also cleared up a few misconceptions that started to form when the pictures were leaked. One of the pictures appeared to show a micro-transaction menu, and many gamers were worried about this. The post says this screenshot was simply taken from a time when they were experimenting with what works and what doesn’t. The final game will be supported with DLC but will not feature micro-transactions. The post read:
“To be perfectly clear: Just Cause 3 will be available in 2015 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC. It will be distributed as a retail box and digital download. It is not a Free To Play game. It does not feature in-game micro transactions.”
