A well known industry insider known as “Tidux” has published a Tweet which claims that the PlayStation 4 version of The Division will run at a higher resolution than the Xbox One version.

If this is correct, it means the PlayStation 4 version of the game will run at 1080p and that the Xbox One version will run at 900p. The developers of The Division have been quite contradictory when asked about the resolution. In an interview with GamingBolt, one developer claimed that both versions of the game would run at 1080p whilst Ubisoft’s Martin Hultberg told Gamespot that each version will be treated individually.
Ubisoft have gained quite a reputation in the last year for claiming their games will run better than they actually end up doing. Watch Dogs got a significant graphical downgrade upon its release whilst Assassin’s Creed: Unity was meant to run at 1080p but ended up running at 900p.
We will know for sure when The Division is released later this year on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
