The good folks over at IGN have reported the news that Sony’s PlayStation 4 console has sold over 20 million units globally, 20.2 million units to be exact. Sony has reported that the PS4 is continuing its legacy as the “fastest and strongest growth in PlayStation hardware history”. The PlayStation 4 is currently available to purchase in over 123 different countries.
Originally launched in November 2013, the PlayStation 4 was an instant success and has been well received by both gamers and critics alike. The last financial report was January 2015 and stated that the PlayStation 4 had sold 18.5 million units worldwide. That means the console has sold a further 2 million units in less than two months. These sales will no doubt have been helped by the recent release of The Order: 1886 exclusively on the PlayStation 4. Several more PlayStation 4 exclusives such as Uncharted 4, Bloodborne, and Ratchet and Clank Remastered will go along way to attracting more PlayStation gamers.
