Most games set in VR are usually exclusive to the platform. Meaning, they are either strictly a PlayStation VR or Oculus Rift title. Some first-person shooter games may host aspects of VR, or become playable in both formats. Bloody Zombies was just announced from nGames, changing up that formula by having the game be a co-operative experience in both VR and 2D brawler.
Bloody Zombies transforms the classic co-op brawler into an original experience. Players team up to battle the undead in the streets of London, regardless of whether if they are playing in VR with its unique viewpoint or on console or PC,” said David Corless, VP of Publishing, nDreams.
The game is being developed by Paw Print Games, a relatively young studio founded in 2011. It features four selectable characters–Teller, Mick ‘The Brick’, Rei, & Eddie–which you can select in a drop-in/drop-out co-op format.
Bloody Zombies combines irreverent British humor, exaggerated characterisation with an approach to over-the-top urban violence to create a new style of brawler. Team play is definitely key, but you’ll also need to beat your friends to compete for the highest score.” said Antony White, Co-Founder and Director at Paw Print Games
Bloody Zombies is slated to release some time in 2017. It will be available on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. The supported VR formats are PlayStation VR, Oculus and the HTC Vive.
It’s also curious to note that a game that is VR intensive is going to see a release on the Xbox One. Coincidence or sign of things to come from E3 2017?
