Rockstar Games has now revealed preorder bonuses and special editions for the highly-anticipated upcoming sequel, Red Dead Redemption 2. In all, the company announced a minor preorder bonus and three different collector’s editions.
To begin, preordering will offer the minor advantage of some bonus items for single player. These advantages include War Horse, a steed with above-average courage and stamina, and the Outlaw Survival Kit, which offers various supplies for replenishing health, Dead Eye, and more. In addition, preordering through a digital store like PSN will grant the player a cash bonus and an in-game treasure map. Finally, preordering any edition of the game will award the player with cash usable in GTAV’s online.
As for limited editions of the game, there are three different collector’s editions to preorder. The Special Edition contains the game, a special world map, and several single-player story extras including a bonus story mission and some extra outfits, weapons, and cash. The Special Edition will cost $80 at launch.
Meanwhile, in addition to all content from the Special Edition, the Ultimate Edition contains a steelbook case and bonus online content including horses, weapons, and rank bonuses. The Ultimate Edition costs $100.
The final special edition, the Collectors Box, costs $100 and notably does NOT feature the actual game. The box instead boasts several physical goodies, including a two-sided puzzle, playing cards, pins, and more.
What do you think? Are you annoyed that the Collectors Box does not have the actual game? Will you be springing for either of the other editions? Let us know in the comments.
