I’ve compiled a list of five series I think deserve to have re-released collections on current generation consoles. They are somewhat unlikely, but one can always dream.

Persona Collection

With the recent release of Person 5 on PS4, I can’t help but wish I could revisit my favorite Persona games of the past on PS4. Don’t get me wrong, I think the franchise is perfect for gaming on the go, but I would love for non-handheld gamers to get the chance to play the older games in the series. The Persona series is in desperate need of a re-release due to the weird order and way the older games released on PS1 and PSP.

Console(s) to release on: PlayStation 4 (in high-definition)

Games in my dream collection:

Persona, Persona 2: Innocent Sin, Persona 2: Eternal Punishment, Persona 3: FES (with unique features from Persona 3: Portable included), Persona 4: Golden

Unlikely games I’d also love in the collection:

Persona 4: Arena, Persona 4: Arena Ultimax, Persona 4: Dancing All Night, Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth

The Legend of Zelda Collection

In recent years, many game developers have gotten frowned upon due to the amount of HD remakes hitting the market, and to a degree, HD remakes are still a little out of hand. However, The Legend of Zelda is an exceptional franchise that consists of some of the best titles in the history of gaming. Thanks to the Switches’ enhanced power when in comparison to 3DS, it’s more feasible that we’ll see GameCube and Wii games (and anything older) running on the console/handheld-hybrid, with no technical difficulties. Heck, after seeing the gorgeous Breath of the Wild on the platform, I believe any previous Nintendo game could run on Switch. The main reason why I want a Legend of Zelda collection is because Nintendo has released so many remakes/remasters over the years, it’d be awesome to have all of those versions on one platform.

Console(s) to release on: Switch (in high-definition)

Games in my dream collection:

The Legend of Zelda, Zelda II: The Adventure of Link, The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past (with GBA enhanced visuals), The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (3DS remake/remaster), The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask (3DS remake/remaster), The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker (Wii U HD Remake), The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (Wii U HD Remaster), The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword (with added traditional control options), The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds

Unlikely games I’d also love in the collection:

The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages, The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons, The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening (with added DX features), The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap, The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass (with added analog functionality), The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks (with added analog functionality)

Super Mario Collection

The Mario series is undeniably one of the most iconic franchises in history. Yes, we’ve all bought many of these games multiple times already. But how about one last time, eh? Now that our purchases are finally tied to an account system, I’m willing to buy every Mario games one last time, and hope that they last more than just a few years. Similar to the Zelda series, Nintendo has released various iterations of some Mario titles, so it would be awesome to have the definitive versions of every Mario game in one place. Also, if they were to release a Mario collection of any sort this year, it would surely hype up Super Mario Odyssey that launches in December.

Console(s) to release on: Switch (in high-definition)

Games in (my dream) collection:

Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros. 2, Super Mario Bros. 3, Super Mario World, Super Mario 64 (with DS bonus content), Super Mario Sunshine, New Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Galaxy, New Super Mario Bros. Wii, Super Mario Galaxy 2, New Super Mario Bros. U, Super Mario 3D World

Unlikely games I’d also love in the collection:

Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels, Super Mario 3D Land, New Super Mario Bros. 2, New Super Luigi U

Mass Effect Collection

Considered to many as the best gaming trilogy of all-time, it’s pretty insane that we haven’t seen remakes/remasters of the Mass Effect games on current generation consoles. Leading up to the launch of Mass Effect: Andromeda, EA and BioWare confirmed they had no plans to bring the trilogy to PS4 and Xbox One, as they were set on looking to the future. However, since Andromeda launched a few weeks ago, EA went back on that by saying the trilogy is “most likely on the way”. So all we can do is hope. Seeing as how unnecessary games like Sleeping Dogs and Darksiders got ‘remasters’, the Mass Effect trilogy is a must have at this point.

Console(s) to release on: Xbox One, Project Scorpio, PS4, Switch(?) (in high-definition)

Games in my dream collection:

Mass Effect (including all DLC content), Mass Effect 2 (including all DLC content), Mass Effect 3 (including all DLC content)

Unlikely games I’d also love in the collection:

Mass Effect: Infiltrator

Fable Collection

Side-note: You can currently play Fable and Fable II on Xbox One thanks to backwards compatibility.

The Fable series, to me, is Microsoft’s best exclusive game franchise. I know, that’s a bold statement — I just have so many memories of the Fable games, I would kill to have them all on my Xbox One, or future Scorpio. I’m also dying to see what Fable would look like remade on the powerhouse that is the Scorpio. I think what happened to Lionhead Studios is awful, and Fable: Legends was super far along in development, so it’d be awesome fan service if Microsoft released the game in its current state, even just to see how fans reacted. I’d certainly buy it just to show them I don’t want the Fable series to completely die.

Console(s) to release on: Xbox One, Project Scorpio (in high-definition)

Games in my dream collection: Fable (Anniversary version), Fable II, Fable III

Unlikely games I’d also love in the collection: Fable: Legends, Fable: Heroes
