The folks over at the renowned Digital Foundry team have put No Man’s Sky under the virtual microscope. The team highlights the game’s use of voxels instead of the usual polygons, going in-depth as to the differences between the two methods. They also touch on the fact that the game is procedurally-generated, and the science behind it. The whole analysis was done surrounding the PS4 version, but PC players should still take a look at it as there are a lot of factors that are present across both versions of the game.
