The newest entry in the critically-acclaimed Gran Turismo racing simulator series, Gran Turismo Sport, sped onto PS4 towards the end of October. It has a slightly new take on the GT formula, which has excited some fans. It looks like the game’s first-week performance was rather strong.
VGChartz has reported that Gran Turismo Sport sold about 982,360 physical copies during its first week on retail store shelves. The majority of those sales came from Europe, accounting for a whopping 54%.
Remember, this number only takes into account physical sales. Figures for the digital version of the game have not been released yet, but it looks like the game definitely hit over 1 million copies sold in just a week. But, since these numbers aren’t from Sony, the whole report will be classified as a rumor. Nevertheless, this is good news for GT Sport if these sales figures are accurate.
Have you played Gran Turismo Sport yet? If so, have you been enjoying it? Sound off below.
